I am looking for a Pi 5 specific AMP HAT, that supplies more power than the older HAT designs.
I have a DigiAMP+ that works great with a 4B and seems to work with a 5. I have been running this way since I got the 5, without any issues or low voltage warnings.. However it is powered via a power brick and supplies 5V pass through power to the Pi @ 2.5A. Works great with a lower power SSD (Kingston A400). Is likely marginal for a NVME.
The Pimoroni NVME "BASE" is fab but I am not convinced it will play stably with 5V@2.5A from the DigiAMP+. Work great with the official Pi 5 USB-PD supply.
So far I have not found a Pi 5 specific AMP HAT that offers higher current pass through or isolation such that I can power the Pi from the official supply and the AMP HAT from a separate higher voltage supply. Any suggestions?
I have moved the DigiAMP+ back to a 4B and have to flip back and forth on the KVM (first world problems I know) to change what I am listening to.
