Troubleshooting • Raspberry Pi resets when HDMI reconnected

I have a RasPi 4B/4G running Debian 12 64 bit. It is running a home brew Python script built around FEH to display images. The Pi runs continuously and will run all day without any issues. The HDMI is plugged into a receiver that gets powered off at night - the Pi remains on. In the AM when the receiver is powered back on the Pi reboots at that point. I would like to have it continue to run without the HDMI attached. I have numerous other RasPis running headless with no issues - it seems that reconnecting the HDMI is the issue. Other posts have suggested swap space is the issue but I have 1GB of swap with none used. The uSD is a 32GB high end card and there is a 256GB USB; boot is off the uSD. Any suggestions? I don't have another 4B to try and I need the 4K HDMI - I'd rather not put a 5 on it, they are a bit pricey.
