General discussion • New "Ethernet-Transceiver"-Chip on the 16GB-Pi5

I noticed that all my Pi5's have a "1 W" chip but the new 16GB has a "3 W". What does that mean? Is that the wattage label? The "1 W" gets over 50 degrees hot, will the new "3 W" get even hotter and maybe even need to be cooled?
