After many attempts I've managed to get a tiny 2 minute piece of video playing on startup from an rpi0 through a waveshare 2" display by using the disk image file from https://videolooper.de. On the initial setup on a tv I had the video successfully playing all the way through and looping. Now I've got the video playing through the waveshare display, the video freezes (after 1 minute 4 seconds) waits for a further minute (the remaining runtime) and then replays this process. This looper uses Omxplayer.
Before using this particular looping solution I previously had it almost working by manually launching VLC player through command line where this same video was pausing in an identical place.
The video I'm using is a tiny 218px x 236px 3Mb h.264 24fps. I have just re-encoded it down to 500k and the same freeze occurs after 1 minute 4 seconds but a few frames earlier.
Can anyone think why this is happening?
