I'm currently working with a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 and have encountered a puzzling issue. On Raspberry Pi OS version 6.1.21-v8+, my setup works perfectly: I have a custom board that uses the CM4’s PCIe interface to connect an SSD, and everything runs smoothly.
However, when I switch to version 6.6.51+rpt-rpi-v8, the system refuses to boot as soon as I connect the SSD. If I remove the SSD, it boots just fine. I should note that the CM4 is configured to boot from its onboard eMMC.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue or does anyone have any insight into what might be preventing the system from starting with the SSD connected under the newer OS version?
