Hey there, I am currently working on a little project with a Pi Zero 2W and a 2048x1536 screen which I have connected over HDMI.
I am running Raspbian (Debian 12 Bookworm) headless with completely quiet boot and am only using the frambuffer to manually display images.
With a Pi 4 the display is automatically set to 2048x1536 no problems but with the Pi Zero 2W it chooses 1920x1200. Setting the resolution manually in the 'cmdline.txt' works on both Pi's as long as the resolution is 1920x1200 or lower. Any resolution higher than that works on the Pi 4 but not on the Pi Zero 2W.
My question now is if this is a set hardware limitation or if it is possible to go higher than that on the Pi Zero 2W. For my use case it would be no problem to lower the refresh rate but I have the feeling that the display I have only supports 60Hz since I tested 30Hz and 24Hz for 1600x1200 which did not work.

Also when looking at '/sys/class/drm/card0-HDMI-A-1/modes' it's the exact same on both Pi's except for the 2048x1536 which lead me to the idea of a hardware limitation in the first place but I couldn't really find any good information on this topic.
