Assistive technology and accessibility • Wide FOV night vision camera for visually impaired gf

Hi everyone,

My gf has an eye condition which severely limits her vision, even more so at night. We talked about how useful it would be if she could at least get to public transport when the days are shorter. Traditional nv goggles have very narrow fov's. The camera module 3 noir has a nice, wide fov which would be more useful for just moving around.

I plan on connecting my raspberry pi zero (1.3) to some drone goggles with a HDMI cable. I would like to run a raw video preview in kiosk mode? I think that would make sense, but I am very new to this and the amount of information is overwhelming. I aim for low latency, 720p should be plenty and a framerate of about 60 should be fine.

Is there anybody that can help me on my way? Because I don't really know where to start. The camera works at least, I tested it with raspi.cam-hello . Now for some programming...

Thanks very much in advance for anyone willing to help!
