After a power shortage, my raspberry pi stopped booting. It displayed a bunch of cma_alloc failed lines, so I did what it's outlined here

and removed the relevant lines from config.txt and cmdline.txt
After that the raspberry pi appears to boot, but instead shows a lot of block like this one:
