Greetings
An over long title doesn't help things so hopefully a 'teaser' works!
I am working toward developing a more than somewhat 'normal' weather monitoring system.
Started listed where I need to monitor and have already past some 20 items (not all different - - - just different locations including some likely over 10 temperature and at least 6 or 7 humidity sensors).
Starting with a fairly simple question - - -
I have outdoor weather where -40 C would not freak me out - - - rare but not totally unusual (1400 km to the west of me was -45 C earlier this week). (Not all sensors will be in outdoor locations!)
Electronics doesn't 'like' working in those kind of temperatures.
Sensors - - - different story.
So I'm looking for temperature sensors where I can park the RPi Pico (present choice) in a tempered environment and the cable to the sensor.
Found a sensor where there is mention of up to 20' (circa 6 m) cable length possible.
I2C with its max of 12" (30cm) just doesn't cut it for my purposes.
I'm finding lots of builds where a DHT 11 is called for.
BME680 uses the I2C bus so that usefulness drops - - - hard.
Love the idea of the SHT45 but its I2C bus again - - - - argh!
What reasonably priced (not over $10) temperature and humidity sensors are there out there - - - - today (please not for 5 years ago!!)?
(Where do I find a list - - please?)
TIA
