Interfacing (DSI, CSI, I2C, etc.) • Display Blank (Black) Screen

I am using a Raspberry Pi 5 with a 7-inch Waveshare display connected via HDMI (video) and USB (touch + power). I am facing a strange power-cycle related issue.

Behavior observed:

1. PI Power OFF → ON within 2 minutes → display works normally.
2. PI Power OFF for a long duration (30+ minutes) then turning On→ display works normally.
3. PI Power OFF for 10–15 minutes → on power ON, the Pi boots, but the display remains black.

Recovery methods:

1. Unplugging and re-plugging the display’s USB cable.
OR
2. Software workaround: toggling the USB VBUS power (LOW → HIGH), after which the display turns on correctly.

This looks like some kind of USB power / HDMI hot-plug / display sleep or firmware state issue that occurs only within a specific power-off window.

Has anyone faced a similar issue with Raspberry Pi 5 and Waveshare HDMI displays?
Any ideas on the root cause or recommended fixes (USB power sequencing, HDMI HPD behavior, Pi 5 power management, or display firmware)?

I checked the display doesn't have a big capacitor
