Troubleshooting • Pico shows zero bytes as available space so cannot copy over files on macOS Sonoma 14.14

Hello I am posting to ask for a bit of help. I haven’t used my Pico’s in about 4 months and recently had a new project I wanted to use them for. I wrote some test code and when I tried to flash the pico with the new code I got a message saying there is not enough free space.

In my finder the pico shows up as usual but if I get info it shows that it has zero bytes available and also the capacity is zero bytes available.

However if I go to disk utility it shows the full capacity as per normal.

Has anyone else found this issue and a solution?

Just as some extra notes I am writing in C so some fixes others have proposed with micro python won’t work.

And I have tried to “nuke the flash” but as I can’t copy the uf2 file over to the pi I can’t try that as an option.

Lastly I have heard others say trie picotool. I followed the setup process in the pico SDK docs but I must have done something wrong as I can’t get that to work. If anyone knows of a tutorial out there to install that and get it to work I would be greatly appreciative.

And sorry last note I’m not a noob but I’m no expert either just like a little above noob more hobbyist so if the fix is really hard to understand I might need a bit of extra help.

Thanks in advance.
