I am trying to integrate 2-way radio into a headset along with the pi. I see similar projects on here, except they are trying to get pis to talk with other pis, whereas I need this to talk with a standard radio. They make similar devices, such as the one linked below, but how do I replicate it within the project? I don't want to buy the unit just to rip the guts out, and hope I don't damage the electronics in the process. I would like to be able to include a few buttons and an LCD to select the channel. Range is not an issue as it isn't going to be very far.
