Hello all,
Apologies if I'm in the wrong forum. I've searched around for hours and cannot find an answer to my question so I'm hoping someone here might have an idea.
For a bit of background, I'm a software developer. I'm brand new to Raspberry Pi. I'm trying to create a Python application that works essentially like a timeclock. You scan a card using the RC522 and the script just timestamps when that card was scanned. Should be pretty simple, no?
Well, I just discovered that the Pi 5 doesn't support the RPi.GPIO library which seems to have been a necessity for these sorts of projects. I'm trying to find some sort of replacement but can't seem to get anything to work.
Is anyone here familiar with a library or workaround that allows me to actually pull data from an RFID card? Or did I just waste a good chunk of change buying a Pi?
Thanks
