HATs and other add-ons • Dual HDMI port arrangement

I have a 4 with the dual micro HDMI ports. Although I have a full-to-micro HDMI cable, I bought two little full-to-micro HDMI adapters to toss in my bag, as they are smaller.

However, it's not possible to plug in the two adapters at the same time. The micro HDMI ports are too close together. One would work, but I have to use an actual micro HDMI cable for the other.

I noticed that if the ports were rearranged, so the audio was swapped with its micro HDMI neighbour, then you could plug in both HDMI adapters, and still plug in a typical audio cable between them.

I'm just curious if this port layout was ever considered, or if there's anything preventing it from being considered in future products (Pi 6 etc.)?

I do realize the PCB routing is a challenge, and maybe that is the reason for the current layout? As I said, just curious to know if that is the reason.
