I have waited way too long to join the Pi community and don't feel like I have done myself any favors with my first project.
What I would like to do is use a pi 3B+ to run a Family Wall (app or desktop app) dashboard in our kitchen. I bought a generic 15.6" portable touch screen display and would like to run the app through the pi for the calendar and recipes. I only need it to connect to the internet, run the app and from a touch screen monitor. I have tried the Raspberry Pi OS but the touchscreen doesn't seem as Plug n Play as I was hoping.
Any thoughts on how I should approach this project? I do not care what OS I use as long as I accomplish the above parameters.
