Hi,

first up, my apologies for asking about such a seemingly simple issue. I am a beginner regarding displays and after two days of trying, I am at my wit's end.

I have a CM4 on a WaveShare Base Board B and want to connect the official 7inch Touchscreen over DSI. This works flawlessly on a Pi4, so the screen is fine. The CM4 and the Board are new and look fine (no bent connectors or anything burnt). I connected the flatband ribbon cable and voltage suppy to the screen, afaik no more connections should be needed.

What I tried:
  • The WaveShare Guide from above, which creates a dt-blob.bin for DSI0 or DSI1. The notes state: "The DSI Display Port is connecting the DSI0 interface of the CM4, and doesn't use the DSI1 display interface." And that on the newest board, "The DSI interface is changed from DSI0 to DSI1, which already supports high resolution." This seems conflicting to me.
  • dtoverlay=vc4-kms-dsi-7inch from the RPi CM4 documentation
  • Everything was tried on a fresh install of Bookworm and Bullseye. Bullseye was a suggestion of the Waveshare support.

Do you have any more ideas I could try?
Alternatively, could I somehow use a RPi Zero/4 as an intermediate display driver?
