I'm new to the forum and also new to the idea of using a Raspberry Pi with Home Assistant.
Before I purchase a Raspberry Pi, I have a crucial question: Can it function effectively as a universal hub, potentially replacing the need for separate manufacturer bridges like the Philips Hue Bridge, Aeotec SmartThings Hub, or Bosch Smart Hub?
My main goal is to integrate various security sensors and smart lights from different brands into a single, centralized system. I'm hoping this approach would save space, reduce costs, and simplify my overall setup compared to managing multiple proprietary hubs.
Understanding if this is a feasible and reliable solution is key to my decision on whether to invest in a Raspberry Pi to build this central ecosystem.
