Beginners • limiting the current from the 5v pin

I recently got a raspberry 4 gifted to me and I want to use it as a power supply for this project I'm building for my microprocessor course in collage, I'm still new to this platform I don't know how to upload a picture for the circuit but it's basically an intel 8086 MP connected to some tiny 2Kb ROMs and a 8 LEDs and push buttons to control said LEDs and like 3 other ICs connected on a breadboard but the circuit's whole purpose is to turn on and off the LEDs.
Anyway, I want to use the 5v pin and my circuit have a lot of protection resistors connected but I'm still worried about the current, my lab instructor told me that if the circuit draws more than 0.5 A because of a lose connection or anything then things are going to go kaboom and I don't want that.
Is there a way to limit the current output within the raspberry itself?
