Ok, firstly not intending t cross post, but guessing the troubleshooting section was the wrong section...
Hi all...
ok, full disclosure, not 100% Arduino based, but guessing most here will know electronics better than me.
Transducer is 5V DC input, output is 0-3.3V
MCP3008 is 2.5 - 5.8V
Want to power the MCP => VCC and vRef wit 3.3V
Power the Transducer via a separate 5V.
All grounds are to be connected,
I'm using Rpi platform, simply because I have allot of them and comfortable with Python.
At the moment I've figured out I can introduce more stability on the MCP by grounding the unused analog inputs.
I am however having measurements that fluctuates like a wave... See below...
Drop in sensor, channel 6
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007 ... 7907rF7dXZ
Screw in sensor - 2, channel 0
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006 ... ry_from%3A
the readings is via simplest.py example for the MCP3008, 0.5 seconds between reading.
I have another program with 9seconds between reading, with similar wavy data.
I had more tests.... and noticed/discovered that when I grounded the unused pins things stabilised a bit.
See the first column, that was with the transducer powered by 3.3V
the season on channel one value/reduce with increase in pressure,
Channel 6 which is the drop in sensor, works other way round, it/value/voltage increases with pressure.
Need to retry and install the sensor in test pipe, power by 5V again and see if this 1023 (lying on desk with 0 pressure) translates to a stable reading when I add water to test pipe...

Got the below when I powered it by 5V, channel 6 is a 10k pot powered by the 3.3V line.| 412 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 989 | 0 | 0 |

I got the screw in sensors cabled using 4 core phone cable.... but was wondering if thats the problem so the last test was using crocodile clamps directly onto the sensors contact pins, onto proto board pin| 1023 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 740 | 3 | 3 |
