Hardware: rpi4
OS tested: bullseye and bookworm
As reported some time ago, there is an easily reproducible bug causing the HDMI audio channels to swap arbitrarily after an under-run.
See [viewtopic.php?p=2194020#p2194020] for details and a simple test script.
This bug is a show-stopper for multi-channel HDMI audio applications. The original thread has been locked without any formal bug raised, nor any resolution as far as I can tell. Is there any reason not to formalise and escalate this bug now that we can easily reproduce it?
