I just got myself a new RPI5 and the official M.2 HAT+. Tried it without connecting to the GPIO pins, and well it just works, SSD shows up fine in the OS. So what is the point of blocking the pins with that hat? Is there any good reason to not just mount it under the board and only use the PCIe connector?
