I'm having trouble with Ubuntu on the Raspberry Pi 5 (8gb). The graphics feel as if they're not accelerated. Gnome animations are slow, SDL games are dropping frames (same games that used to run great on 20 year old PCs), youtube videos drops HALF the frames at 480p (and even at 144p) etc. Something doesn't work accelerated-wise (not an issue with the SD card). It's a brand new installation of ubuntu btw, latest updates installed. I downloaded the ISO file from the ubuntu website (and burnt it with the rpi-imager using the "custom" option).
Please note that Raspbian is smooth as butter on the same hardware. And I'm not talking about the difference between the two DEs (LXDE vs Gnome), I'm talking purely acceleration-wise.
Any help to find out what's going on?
