Media centres • no sound output on the RPI3 3.5mm jack

when i do sudo raspi-config

all i see is this:


which is fine because i only want to hear music through the 3.5mm jack. BUT i dont hear anything when trying to play my music through SqueezeLite. any idea why? should i edit my SqueezeLite config file?


on the desktop, Raspbian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm), this is what i see:




in the future, if i want HDMI outpt sound, how can i enable that?
