Hello, everyone
I am setting up my pi 4 to run a jellyfin server and as part of this I have set up an access point so even without internet connection I can get access to my media.
I have two interfaces the pi’s internal Wi-Fi chip (wlan0) and an external ap capable usb Wi-Fi adapter (wlan1): https://thepihut.com/products/dual-band ... gInOvD_BwE
I am running pi os lite bookworm and was following this tutorial: https://www.raspberrypi.com/tutorials/h ... i-hotspot/
I’m using the internal interface to connect to external Wi-Fi connections and the external interface for the hotspot/AP.
I can successfully set up the hotspot on the external interface except nothing will connect to it, i.e. any device will fail to connect after I enter the password. (I tried the safari tutorial on the pi’s internal interface and it works).
However upon research a solution it was suggested switching the backend from wpa_compliant to iwd, which fixed the issue and the hotspot worked well.
However my new issue is that the hotspot won’t start at boot even after setting it to auto connect and highest priority which has never been an issue before.
The Wi-Fi connection on wlan0, (used for ssh) does auto connect but seems to ignore that the hotspot has higher priority.
I don’t know what to do? I’ve tried disabling auto connect on wlan0 (but the hotspot doesn’t auto start and now I have to connect keyboard/display as I can no longer ssh due to wlan0 not auto starting although this is expected behaviour.
Anyone have any ideas?
