I have a Pi5 with the latest OS and updates. It runs the GUI and I usually access it via VNC. Sometimes I can’t connect, and when I investigate with the local monitor I find a window displaying something along the lines of <wifi adapter xxx> <ssid id> requires a password. The password field is already populated with ******* (so presumably the WiFi password it has been previously using) and if I click ok it reconnects to the network it was previously using. This drop happens very roughly once or twice a month.
Other relevant information: the connection is provided via a mesh network. The master node (not the one used by the Pi) is power cycled once per day. I’ve also tried adding a second USB WiFi adapter to the Pi, so that the integrated adapter uses 5GHz and the USB one connects via 2.4GHz (separately named SSIDs). In this configuration I get a unique IP address for each adapter. However I still suffer from this need password widow appearing, which appears to stop both connections.
Any ideas how to make the connection robust, ie it tries to automatically reconnect?
Thanks
