Compute Module • Booting OS from SSD via PCIe switch

Does the RPi CM4 (bootloader) officially support booting from NVMe SSD via a PCIe switch such as the ASM1184e?

I found some information, but it was 2-3 years ago. What is the current progress in implementing this feature?
