Troubleshooting • Device drops off the network

I have a Raspberry Pi 4 running the latest 64bit version of Raspberry Pi OS. I have completed a fresh install and fully updated it. The only alteration that I have made is that I have enabled VNC using sudo raspi-config from the terminal. I have it running constantly in headless mode, and it isn't particularly feasible to connect it to a screen.

I am facing an issue where periodically it will drop off the network e.g. it cannot be accessed by SSH or VIA, does not reply to a ping request, and when I log into my router I cannot see it as being connected. I have the Pi set as a static IP address through the router's DHCP option, using its Wi-Fi MAC address.

I have had the same issue with this particular SD card on several different builds, and each time have just gone with a clean install.

I have another SD card running the previous version of Raspberry Pi OS (64 bit) that runs for months at a time without error. A small part of me wonders whether the SD card is damaged, but I don't have a 3rd card available at present to test this theory.

Are there any log files available to get to the root cause of this issue? Is there any additional logging that I can turn on?
