Hello all,
I am building a CNC machine controller with the Pi 5 at its heart. I am using the Waveshare Gigabit Ethernet + 3x USB 3.2 PCIe HAT+ for Raspberry Pi 5 (WAV-27541) to get more ports. I have a 24V power supply in the enclosure that I could drop down or clutter things inside by having the official power supplies on UK DIN mounted plugs. Ugly.
1. The Waveshare HAT has a USB-C input. Does anyone known what kind of power the HAT will need? Does it pull power from the pi 5? Maybe depends on the peripherals attached?
2. I thought of using 24V into the 52PI PD Power Extension Board for Raspberry Pi 5 which has both 5V 5A capable USBC out for the Pi but also has a 4 pin molex that I could then use to power the Waveshare HAT assuming I can use both outputs at the same time. . Can this be done? That would be quite tidy if true.
