Lots of portable (and non-portable) Pi projects need to provide USB power, but not data, to external devices like screens and drives.
It would be convenient to avoid pushing this power through the PI, but still to have a way of ensuring that power is on only when the Pi is on.
Has anyone come up with a way to have another power source, like a powerbank, provide power only when the Pi is on? I'm asking here because I'm sure that many others have run across this problem and thought about it extensively.
