Beginners • Pi Zero 2 W stuck out of the box

Hi. I'm a noob with a problem :). I got 2 PI's. I got a CanaKit RP5, and it works juste fine. I've got it playing NFS server and sharing with my MacOs machine just fine. Its on my network... I can watch Netflix..... it work !! FUN !

My other PI is a PI Zero 2 W. Using a Gigastone 64GB Micro SD Card (speed=v30), I flashed the sd card using the RaspberryPi imager app [ Dev:RPI Zero2W, OS: Bookwork released 2024-03-15 ] First I tried setting up my desired setting [ name, wifi, etc[ , then I tried no setting. When I boot up the PI-Zero2W, it flashes the rainbow screen and then goes to the "Welcome to theRaspberry Pi Desktop" splash screen where it stays forever (waited hours in case there was a long fsck or something). In frustration I hit <esc> on the keyboard, I got it to drop out into "Warning: Error syncing/closing /dev/mmcbkj0p1: Input/output error <cr> Retry/Ignore ?" After a bunch of ^d.... it goes back to an fsck ... finishes and reboots (through the rainbow screen) back to the splash screen where it sits again. After a few minutes this time, it goes to BusyBox v1.35.0 "(initramfs) ". If I then exit the shell, I Gert "ALERT! PARTUUID-617a2abd-02 does not exist. Dropping into shell". and back to BusyBox.

Stuck and frustrated.... I wonder.... does everyone go through this ? I must be doing something wrong. I tried a different PI, a different SD Card, even tried booting a different image. They all do roughly the same thing.

Ideas anyone ?
