I am trying to use my raspberry pi as a print server for a windows 98 computer connected preferably directly via ethernet, but right now I am running it through a switch because I do not have a crossover cable. I have both the Pi and 98 computer set up with static IP's. I can ping the Pi from the windows computer and vice versa. I can access the Cups server from the windows computer, but when I go to add the printer it shows offline. Also when I go into network neighborhood sometimes the Pi shows up but cannot be accessed and other times it never shows up. I have cups and samba installed. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
