Beginners • Controlling high current relays - max safe GPIO current

I have a greenhouse setup that uses a couple 120V/15A heaters to supply supplementary heat in the winter.

Currently I am using a couple layers of relays to control the heaters: Raspberry PI connected to a relay HAT, the relay HAT controls power to the solenoids of some high current relays, the high current relays control power to the heaters. This requires 3 power sources: 1 for the Pi, one for the heavy duty relays, and the mains power supplied to the heaters.

I would like to replace the 2 relays required for each heater with a single (solid state or optical) relay, but have not been able to confirm how much current can be drawn through a GPIO pin of a Zero 2 W.

Is documentation available that provides that info?

Alternatively, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!
